I’m a mom who seeks adventure for my kids. After eight years in public school we decided to home school our four children because my husband and I are no longer tied to jobs and we want to be free and flexible to travel and take family adventures! We live in Montana but we recently started RVing and our goal is to spend a lot of time seeing new places and exploring the world with our kids!
I like to say that our family is now like a one-dish meal. A yummy casserole of everything great all mixed together. We used to live life compartmentalized- like a cafeteria lunch tray. You know what I’m talking about. There was the vegetable section, the main entree section, the fruit, the milk carton, and the square you hoped would contain a chocolate brownie that day. Nothing touched and you ate your meal one food square at a time. That’s how we lived our lives. We had our school section, our job section, our church and ministry section, our extra curricular activity section, and our tiny little recreational desert section. Sound familiar? I’m not complaining. We had a great life but I’ve always dreamed of living a little bit differently. I wanted time, and freedom, and flexibility. I wanted to be able to afford to travel and show our kids the world. That desire was part of the reason I went on a journey to build a business that could give us a new way of living.
I became a dōTERRA Wellness Advocate in the summer of 2012. A year later, I closed my salon business that had been occupying much of my evening and weekend hours away from my family. My doTERRA business is now “our” business and because our Wellness Advocate team is spread across every state and abroad, we not only have the time and resources to travel, we have the opportunity to pour into our team when we do!
So here we are. Our work is online and all over the world. Work finally doesn’t feel like work because it’s so much fun! We bought an RV and we are hitting the road to start seeing America! We’re spend much of our time at home in Montana but our hope is to be traveling whenever we can. Our days are a blur of teaching, learning, business, recreation, and amazing memories. I won’t lie- it’s not always pretty. We have our moments of squabbles and hiccups a long the way, but that’s all part of the rhythm of family life. I’m choosing to breath it all in, and soak up every minute I have with my kids while they’re here.
That’s the casserole of our life. That’s our family. I’m so happy to share a few snapshots a long the way!

I absolutely LOVE your cafeteria tray analogy! Very apt!
